Our Story
GeoWater’s journey began in 2003, when Charles Ruxton founded the company. Charles, a hydrogeologist with specialist knowledge and training in environmental geology and contaminated land, undertook initial projects forming GeoWater to a highly reputable and professional consultancy, in Shropshire and across the wider UK.

In 2015, Toby first worked for GeoWater as a Contaminated Land Field Technician, fresh from completing a BSc in Environmental Science. This invaluable experience landed Toby a job as a Technical Officer in the Environment Team at Shropshire Council. During this time, he completed his Geography MSc by research in Contaminated Land and worked his way up to a Professional Officer leading Air Quality for the county.

In 2024, Toby took the leap to return to GeoWater and learn the ropes to take over from Charles as company Director. In his time away Toby felt he had developed the knowledge and expertise to take on the challenge, but knew he still had big boots to fill!
As GeoWater has entered a new chapter under Toby Pierce's stewardship, the company remains committed to its core values of innovation, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. The leadership transition marked not just a change in management but also a renewed commitment to tackling modern environmental challenges with cutting-edge research and solutions.
